Claim #3: It makes us smarter

Caffeine is the most popular stimulant in the world, effectively making coffee everyone’s favorite drug. However, caffeine does more than help us wake up in the morning.

As an active ingredient, caffeine’s main role is to reduce the effects of adenosine, which is an inhibitory neurotransmitter. Basically, caffeine boosts neuronal firing and almost instantly improves our mood. Additionally, it does wonders for our other brain functions – memory, reaction time, vigilance, etc.
